It’s 1am, and we are still at Dojo.

That’s right. We are still at dojo.

Why? Because no one is here. We get work done with no distractions. No annoying sound of that beeper at the door, no dude telling me tuck my seat in so he can squeeze behind me to get to his desk. No crap. Just work. And whiskey. And music.

Number Two

This is our second post, god I love talking about what is happenin. Today marks month numero dos, and the team is officially grown to 5 people.

Meaning two members are new: Florent, AKA Designer dude, and AKA the man with the castle (He seriously owns a castle). And Jean François, AKA JFK. Both are awesome, and both are boosting our product development momentum. We met them at Startup Weekend, and let me tell you, if you are looking for talented team members, and if you want to see them work before making a decision, attend a startup weekend.

Here is Florent’s story. Designer dude joined my girlfriend’s team, and at around 11 pm on Saturday, before we left to get some rest at home, I explained to him exactly how I envisioned the website to work. He said alright, and I expected him to work on it the next day. I left and came back the next morning. He was wearing the same shirt, one eye was half shut because he was so tired, and he asked me to come check something out. He opened up his laptop, and everything we talked about the night before was done, and it was done very well. He didn’t sleep at all, just to be able to deliver. Now that’s awesome.

JFK on the other hand is the man with 5 hands. Seriously he can code, he can design, he writes business plans, and knows all about UX. He’s like a walking startup. At startup weekend, he set the bar high. 24 hours in, and his website was live and functional. Some teams didn’t even agree on the entire concept, while JFK was killing it.

We are super happy with the team, and we have some awesome things coming up, so please, stay tuned…

The 27th of April!

Today, marks the end of the second month at DojoBoost. And today is also the day that we are finally incorporated. So, today is a good day. We can actually start legally invoicing clients, and start hustling. Awesome.

But why are we so happy you ask? Because over the course of the last 7 weeks or so, we have done so much. Tomas Paulauskas, and Mourad de Clerck packed up their bags and moved to Paris to work full time on Enter The Club (previously Champagne Me). Then, fortunately for us, a brand new accelerator run by John Lewis was set up in Paris. We applied and we got in. We had some talented people jumping on board to help us set up, like Florent Marcilhacy and Anoaur Maarouf. We are happy at DojoBoost, as we’ve had the opportunity to meet some tremendous people, entrepreneurs, developers, designers, mentors, and like minded individuals. Looking to the left and right, similar startups are here, such as GeoKiwi, Youboox, Onecub, Ugly Ducklings, and Flubber.

Stay tuned. More blog posts to come.
